Title: Designing and conducting end-user tests phase 3
Milestones hit:
– Hosted a customer feedback session to gather insights on how to improve the user experience of
ACEVR software. Conducted user testing for a new feature that allows users to export 30 models to
popular game engines.
Challenges:
– Collecting comprehensive and actionable feedback from a diverse user base.
– Ensuring that users provide detailed feedback to identify areas for improvement.
– Addressing compatibility issues on Mac devices, which were developed primarily on Windows.
– Resolving bugs and compatibility problems caused by the use of cracked versions of Revit by some
users.
– Dealing with performance issues on older hardware, impacting the smooth operation of the
software.
– Replicating diverse user environments and configurations for comprehensive testing.
How were the challenges handled:
– To address the challenge of collecting comprehensive feedback, our team employed various
strategies. We utilized a combination of surveys, interviews, and observation during the customer
feedback session to gather insights from users. Additionally, we created a user-friendly feedback
mechanism within the software itself to encourage users to provide feedback directly from their
workflow.
Key risks and issues:
– discovery of unexpected software bugs or usability issues. Such issues could potentially impact the
overall user experience and hinder the successful implementation of the new feature.
Plans for the future:
– Based on the feedback received during the customer feedback session and user testing, we will
refine and enhance the user experience of ACEVR software.
– Address any identified bugs or usability issues and further optimize the new feature for exporting 3D
models to popular game engines.
– Provide users with a seamless and intuitive experience while using ACEVR and ensure the successful
integration of their designs into game engines for enhanced visualization and collaboration.
